A wise old Calgary Model A’er saw the financial burden of Christmas, eating into his plans for purchasing certain Model A parts, he had been longing for on “ebay”, so he called his son in Vancouver. He said…..you know this constant nagging by your mother about my ModelAextravagance, has led to what I have always feared, a split in our marriage after 45 years. But dad!! The son pleaded, can’t this be worked out? No my son he said, it is over, no discussion.
The old ModelA’er then called his daughter in Ottawa and explained the same situation, ending the conversation as before with, “there was nothing further that could be done.”
Shortly thereafter the daughter called back in a panic and said that immediately she and her brother were coming to Calgary to deal with this situation.
The wise old Model A’er turned to his wife after the call and said, “The kids are coming home for Christmas and paying their own way!”
Isn’t that wonderful! His wife said, and gave him her usual big hug and kiss.
